New Employee Orientations (NEO)

Welcome to the County of Santa Clara

The County of Santa Clara is more than a place to work. We strive to provide quality services and promote a healthy, safe, and prosperous community for all.

We’re delighted you have chosen to share your talents with us. We are confident that you’ll find working at the County of Santa Clara a rewarding experience.

We would like to point out different “orientations” you may be asked to complete.  Below are descriptions of each type of orientation.

Service Center 2.1

Service Centers are satellite offices that work with the departments to meet the HR-related needs of the County's agencies.

An initial orientation by the Service Center is where you would complete your benefits paperwork and sign all the required forms.
Click here for a list of Service Centers if you need to follow up on any information or forms received.

Agency 2.1

Agency or Department orientations introduce you to your position, team, and any requirements or processes.

For example, at VMC employees learn about their agency-specific requirements such as HIPPA.
If you have questions about this orientation, ask your supervisor.

NEO 2.1

The Countywide New Employee Orientation (NEO) web-based training will provide you with an introduction to the County’s structure, culture, policies, and best practices. You will also learn about the programs and services available to you and how to connect with each when needed. You will be required to complete this training within 90 days of your start date.
