Aspire Journeys walk you step-by-step with courses, guidance, tools, and hands-on practice, so you can maximize your time to fit learning into your calendar and gain skills you need.
    Examples of Journey Tracks (skillsets) include Finance for Non-Financial Professionals, First Time Manager, and Business Analyst to Data Analyst.

    Aspire Journeys

    sccLearn provides on-demand, instant access to thousands of best-in-class online books on a wide variety of topics.

    You can choose from online books which provide you with the whole book that you can read cover to cover. If you just want the key concepts, book summaries provide the details in an abridged format. Similarly, there are audio books where you can listen to the complete book, or audio book summaries that provide an abridged version.

    sccLearn makes it easy for you, just type the title, topic, key words or Author in the search field, then browse through the titles which display the average time to complete the book, and make your selection based on the format that meets your preferences.

    sccLearn’s eLearning web-based trainings are recognized by various professional organizations as approved continuing education (CEU) or professional development (PDU) courses to maintain professional certifications with organizations such as the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).  

    Each organization has their own process for learners to submit a certificate of completion on equivalent courses for their programs. Some organizations will accept the regular completion diplomas from sccLearn, while others require a more formal certificate. Complete the Skillsoft Certificate Request Form to submit additional proof of course completion if needed.

      As mandated by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN), the governing body responsible for the implementation and enforcement of the laws related to nursing education, licensure, practice, and discipline, California registered nurses have been required to document continued competency by completing a minimum of 30 contact hours every two years in subjects relevant to the practice of nursing. 

      Skillsoft, available through sccLearn, is licensed and approved by the BRN as a provider of Continuing Education Courses in the State of California to assist California Registered Nurses in their ongoing professional development. Skillsoft’s CEP number is 13334.
      Once you have completed your course(s) from the approved BRN continuing education units (CEUs) course list, upload your sccLearn transcript showing the completion to the Certificate Request Form portal to earn the credit.

      Skillsoft (available through sccLearn) is a CompTIA Authorized Partner (#361320). Courseware aligned with CompTIA’s popular A+, Network+, Security+, Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) certifications are designated as CompTIA Authorized Quality Content (CAQC) and designed to help you prepare for those exams. 
      Review the Skillsoft CompTIA Certification Course list, search for, and complete the course in sccLearn.

      As an approved education provider for the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI Provider #2304), Skillsoft courses available through sccLearn offers approved courses that count towards recertification credit hours (RCHs). 
      Review the list of approved HRCI RCH Courses, complete the course(s) and request formal documentation through the Certificate Request Form portal by uploading your sccLearn completion transcript.

      sccLearn offers Skillsoft courses that are approved by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) for the Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) credential (Provider Number: E48315) to help you meet your CBAP training requirements.
      Review the list of approved IIBA courses, search for and complete the course in sccLearn, download your transcript and e-mail [email protected] to request a certificate.

      With Skillsoft’s continuing professional education (CPE) courses available through sccLearn, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) can earn the credits they need to keep their licenses active. Skillsoft offers more than 600 courses that provide authorized CPE credits across a range of topics, from personal development and business ethics to Microsoft Excel and business analysis. 
      Skillsoft is registered with NASBA as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. Skillsoft’s CPE/QAS Sponsor ID number is 106191.

       

      How to Find CPE Courses in sccLearn: From the Library in sccLearn, select Training Credits under the Filter option, and check NASBA CPE. Once you have selected a CPE course from the results, the number of associated CPE Credits will be provided in the Objectives section of the course description.

      CPE Requirements: Courses are only eligible for CPE credit if they are “compliant” at the time they are started, and you must complete a course within one year of first access with a minimum score of 70% .

      Once you have completed the course(s), upload your training transcript from sccLearn showing the completion to the Certificate Request Form portal.

      To maintain PMP® certification, project management professionals must earn 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) over a three-year cycle. Skillsoft has been recognized as a PMI® Premier Authorized Training Partner (A.T.P.) (provider #1008) for project management training courseware and live bootcamps that can assist PMI members and other project management stakeholders in their ongoing professional development. sccLearn’s Skillsoft courses offer more than 400 courses that provide authorized PDU instruction over a range of topics, from leadership essentials and business ethics to employee engagement and thinking critically. 

      How to Find PDU-Approved Courses in sccLearn: From the Library in sccLearn, select Training Credits under the Filter option, and check PMI PDU. Once you have selected a PDU course from the results, the number of associated PDUs will be provided in the Overview section of the course description.

      The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has for decades been the leading international provider of resources for HR professionals to advance the practice of human resource management. Skillsoft is a SHRM Provider, offering courses through sccLearn that are pre-approved for recertification credits for SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certification holders.
      Review the Skillsoft SHRM PDC Courses catalogue, complete the courses and request formal documentation through the Certificate Request Form portal by uploading your sccLearn completion transcript.

      Learning Bundles are curated training activities in sccLearn focused around one topic, area to hone your skills. Learning Bundles contain web-based courses, books, audio books, practice labs, and Skill Benchmarks. Learning Bundles are available for skills such as Project Management Essentials, Giving and Receiving Feedback, and Managing Conflict, where in addition to the curated courses and books, you may find helpful guides to enhance your professional development. For some Learning Bundles, such as Microsoft Excel, you can select your software version and expertise level to practice guided activities to build your skill set in a safe simulated environment.

      Accessing Learning Bundles in sccLearn from the sccLearn Library. Select the Learning Bundles topic to browse the many Bundles available to you by Topics, or use the Filter option to browse by activity type. Once you have selected your Bundle, you may need to click START to view the details of the Bundle.

      Practice Labs in sccLearn are live virtual environments (not simulations) designed to help you practice and assess your current skill level. Practice Labs can include virtual machines, networks, devices, apps, software and developer tools, datasets, etc. 

      These activities cover a broad range of technologies such as those for the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Certifications or programming languages such as Python, HTML and CSS, where you can gain practical hands-on experience in a safe and risk-free environment.

      Skill Benchmark assessments allow you to rate your level of proficiency for a particular skill against a standard set of objectives defined by a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Every question on a Skill Benchmark is tied to a specific learning objective defined by a SME.

      The results of your assessment show how strong you are in that skill and opportunities for improvement are provided with specific content recommendations targeted to those questions you answered incorrectly.

      Skill Benchmarks cover topics including technology and development, data analysis, and communication.  To access Skill Benchmarks in sccLearn, search for a topic of interest and select the Learning Bundle.  Within the Learning Bundle, the Skill Benchmark can be found by clicking Assess.  Note: Not all Learning Bundles will have an associated Skill Benchmark.

        Bootcamps offer a personalized classroom experience in a virtual environment where you’ll get to meet experts in the field and peers that you can chat with in real time, ask for advice, and work together through examples. Bootcamps are recorded, so if a live event does not work for your schedule or you miss a session, you can always watch the recorded event at your own convenience.  Bootcamps cover regular topics such as Microsoft Azure, Python, Certification Prep for the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and more. Some bootcamps may be just a few hours in duration, daily for a week, or once a week for 8 weeks, allowing you the flexibility to choose what works best with your schedule.

        Leadercamps in sccLearn provide managers with a transformative leadership development experience. Leadercamps are interactive, live, virtual classrooms events (or recording of past Leadercamps) run by subject matter experts, blended with web-based courses, books, and audio books. Registration will be available for live Leadercamp events. Recordings are available anytime for viewing. Examples of previous Leadercamps include Removing Systemic Bias from Organizational Culture, Leading in The New Normal, Overcoming Burnout, and Thriving in Turbulent Times.

        Skillsoft Live Events and On-Demand Events are keynote presentations delivered by industry experts, thought leaders, best-selling authors, and business school faculty.

        While the live events allow you to ask questions and participate, the timing may not always align with when you can attend. The on-demand recording of the Live Event is available on-demand and can be watched at your convenience. Alternatively, you can utilize the on-demand recordings to grow with your team. Review the recording in advance to prepare questions to promote discussion, then pause the recording during the scheduled meeting to engage your team in the discussions.

        sccLearn resources help you prepare for over 100 certifications exams with Bootcamps, Test Preps, and web-based training courses. These resources either satisfy direct requirements needed to attain certification or are learning resources aligned with the learning objectives of a given certification. Test Prep includes guided examinations with answer explanations and no timer or taking the test in a traditional examination configuration.

        Review the Certification Matrix bellow to see all content in sccLearn that is directly aligned to the certification requirements set by certifying vendors such as ASQ, International institute of Business Analysis, Cisco, and Microsoft.

         

        For example, if you were interested in the PMP Certification with the Project Management Institute, you could start by taking the 5-day or 8-day PMP Authorized Training Provider (ATP) Bootcamp to earn the 35 hours of training required to sit for the exam.  Then you can look for the Test Prep to prepare for the PMP examination and take a mock test in a guided mode with answer explanations, and once you are fully prepared, complete the test in examination mode, where you will be directed to take a scored exam without any of the explanations and answers.

        Then you can request a certificate of completion from Skillsoft’s Certificate Request Portal, by selecting the Project Management Professional (PMP®) Exam Prep: PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) Bootcamp course from ATP and uploading your completion certification from sccLearn, saving the certificate you receive via e-mail for your records.

        sccLearn provides access to 100’s of web based training courses that you can complete at your own convenience. The courses are designed to be engaging and interactive and many contain videos to enhance the topic. Courses typically have a duration of 20-90 minutes, however, you don’t need to complete the whole training – you can look at the menu provided in the course and hone into the section or video that can provide you with the quick “just in time” learning you are looking for.

        Simply type the topic into the sccLearn search field and browse to find the course that best meets your needs.

        *You must receive manager/supervisor approval prior to enrolling in any eLearning activity or using any of  the subsequently mentioned tools during work hours. Any use of sccLearn outside of work hours is on your own time, and will not result in overtime, unless previously communicated by management.
